I am currently a patient on 2 North and I'm being treated for Sickle Cell Crisis and Congestive Heart Failure. I was admitted into the hospital on Saturday, May 23, and I was having a very hard time trying to relieve the pain I was experiencing from the current crisis. On Saturday night, I was in so much pain, all I could do was sit up and cry. I couldn't breathe or walk and the pain was unbearable. Christopher was my nurse and I had him before so I felt comfortable around him, but he did the most beautiful thing. When he saw how much pain I was in, Chris reached out and hugged me until I was all cried out. A small gesture had the biggest impact on me. Chris said some very encouraging words and he held me until he was sure I was alright. Chris was an angel sent from heaven and God knew he was what I needed at that time.
