My wife was extremely ill, and we made the decision to go to hospice from the ICU at 10 AM. I understand that there are lots of logistics to get that to happen, but when they tell you that you have a bed and are awaiting transport for over an hour (this now is at 9 PM) nerves get a little frayed.
Chris took it upon himself to move my wife with the help of an aid to the hospice unit where it was much more peaceful than the bustling ICU. He did not have to do this. It was an act of kindness that I really appreciated. My wife died about 2 hours after we got there.
