We've had a young patient on our floor for months now whom we've seen go through dramatic improvement. She had an anoxic brain injury due to a suicide attempt. She came to us barely aware of her surroundings, unable to walk, speak, or do much of anything. Months later, she is walking, talking, eating, and smiling. While she is much physically better, Chris has focused so much on her mental improvement.

When Chris is at work, even if he is not assigned to this particular patient, he can be found in her room playing games with her: connect 4, checkers, and chess, all games that he brought from home to help keep her stimulated. He has helped remind her of the rules of the games. Chris is really focusing on treating the whole patient.
