Nurses like Chris stand out without having to on purpose. It's a gift not all people are blessed with, and I feel very lucky to have him as part of the LVMC Nursing family.
We are very fortunate to have a great MS team; we know that nurses here face many challenges and difficult shifts and deserve some recognition. One of the nurses who has stood out in patient care recently for making patients feel special and cared for is Chris Wagar. Chris has been noted to be extra attentive to his patients and to provide respect and care that we are proud of. It might seem small, but Chris has displayed care and respect for our patients, which aligns with our overall vision of complete care. In addition to the nomination below, Chris has also been noted to have infinite patience when speaking to patients and always speaks to them in a calm, reassuring manner. He takes the extra time to explain things in a way the patients can understand.

Since I was diagnosed with stage 3 Cirrhosis a little over a year ago, Chris has been given the job of treating me "very kindly" several times. Chris is one of the many nurses I feel has a genuine love and respect that comes naturally to him giving patients like myself reassurance about how well I will be fairly cared for. He is thorough and completes medications and other vital tasks required within the necessary time range. If I ask him anything regarding my treatment during my admission, he is 90% capable of answering without any assistance. He will go out of the way to try and keep me comfortable; he is knowledgeable and comforts me with a warm blanket.
Nurses like Chris stand out without having to on purpose. It's a gift not all people are blessed with, and I feel very lucky to have him as part of the LVMC Nursing family. It's definitely an awesome, well-trained team. I wish Chris the future he deserves, filled with peace, fun, and excitement.
