My mom was admitted through the emergency room with a complete heart block. After a very restless, stressful night and morning in the emergency room, she was transferred to the Cath Lab for a temporary pacemaker. I was allowed to be with her because of her dementia, confusion, and condition. Christy was her nurse in the recovery area. She was not only attentive to my mom, but to me as well, letting me vent all my frustrations and concerns. She has a very calming personality and is a very knowledgeable and skilled nurse. She allowed my brother and me to swap out when he arrived from Tampa. It ended up being the last time he saw our mom alive. She also gave me a much-needed hug when my mom was transported to her room, and I wasn’t allowed to go with her because of COVID-19 restrictions. Fast forward a couple of months to my mom’s passing at home, I received a very heartfelt card from Christy. She is a very bright light and dedicated employee of the hospital. She is not just a daisy, but a whole bouquet.
