Although I don't work on the same floor as this nurse, I am able to witness her expertise and compassion during a family's lowest moment. The death of an infant prior to delivery is devastating. Christy is often the nurse asked to be the bereavement nurse and recently we have had a few of these unfortunate deliveries. Her compassion, respect for the patient, her calm, quiet yet comforting presence and ability is truly a gift. This is such a tough role with the family, but she is respectful of their privacy and does an amazing job assisting with learning this knowledge, delivering the baby, and making the momentspecial post delivery for each family. All of us feel sad when we hear of the news, but then I am comforted to know that Christy is the nurse to help this family during their loss. Chester County is so lucky to have Christy as a role model to all.
