Christy Morris is a nurse manager of unit 4B. Late last year it was announced that 4B, after nearly 2 years of being in the covid unit, would now take on the responsibility of being the very first Transplant Unit. As a nurse manager, I am sure Christy felt a certain panic at this announcement, however, to us the staff she was nothing but positive and encouraging, and welcoming of this opportunity for 4B. During covid, we struggled as a profession. We watched nurse after nurse leave the unit and sometimes the field. We held the hands of dying patients so frequently and she was with us right by our sides, and now here comes this huge responsibility, and she has led us through it every single step of the way with a smile. For a leader to smile in the face of adversity and challenge, and to be with us during the struggle of covid is rare, and she should be recognized as the unicorn she is. She is rare and special and very much appreciated here. We love Christy.
