July 2013 Honoree
christy norton, RN
Early in the morning, I lay near death in the Adult Neuro ICU. Christy summoned my husband and sister to my bedside, and through a 6-hour ordeal as the CCT struggled to restore my oxygen saturation levels, she kept my family calm. Christy updated them on what was being done to me and why, explaining what each procedure involved in layman's terms and demystifying what was a nightmare scenario for my family to watch unfold. Christy's interest in my care and welfare and her devotion to my family's needs in this crisis were unparalleled for the duration of my 18-day stay in the ICU last Spring.
Thank you, Christy, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
