Christy Washington was given the task to assist the RN Neurology Case Manager while the RN was on annual leave. She really "stepped up" and did a thorough, excellent job, doing work that she has limited experience with. I feel that she went above and beyond all the while maintaining her own responsibilities/duties to the OPC unit.
Christy reviewed/completed all the clinic exits, making sure that notes were entered, testing alerted to providers and RTC orders were in so that the clerks could schedule follow up appointments, keeping in mind she was also checking in patients during clinics.
Christy accepted the task with true professionalism and without complaint. She was very eager to learn and be of assistance. I know she came into work early to make sure that the extra tasks that she had been assigned would be taken care of.
I truly appreciate Christy and all her hard work. The volume of Neurology Clinic work that she completed while having other responsibilities speaks loudly that she is a team player, she is most certainly competent to be assigned more in-depth responsibility and is an extremely hard worker. I have randomly reviewed some of the work that she completed, and she was very thorough and accurate in her work. As I have said, Christy is a hard worker and she genuinely cares for the patients. She demonstrates a commitment to the veterans by being a person of integrity and she is a patient advocate, wanting what is best for the patients. She is respectful to the veterans and their families. The tasks that she completed for Neurology demonstrates her expectation for excellence and high-quality workmanship. Her dedication to "see it through" shows her commitment to excellence in work as well as a commitment to the Veterans in assuring that the providers are informed regarding test completion and assuring the clerical staff has the information, they need to schedule return appointments.
