I would like to recognize my labor and delivery nurse, Christy Wishingrad, because of the extraordinary compassion and care she provided during one of the most important and emotional moments of my life.

After a very difficult pregnancy, I met Christy a week prior to being induced for labor. From the moment she entered the room, she brought a happy, calming presence and genuine warmth that made me feel safe, supported, and seen—so much so that when it came time to schedule my induction, I tried to plan it around her schedule.

The difference of having a nurse there that I was comfortable with was worth everything to me—even more than the doctor.

She was dialed in to my verbal and nonverbal cues. She read the room with professionalism and knew when to approach me and follow up with me to make sure I was okay. She anticipated every need before I could even voice it, explained each step clearly, and advocated for me with such kindness and tact.

Her reassuring words, gentle touch, and unwavering patience helped me stay grounded through hard moments. She not only cared for me medically—she cared for me as a person. Best of all, she laughed with me!

Her dedication, empathy, and skill made all the difference in my experience. I am deeply grateful for the comfort, strength, and compassion she gave me, and I believe she truly embodies the spirit of super-human nurses.
