I have observed Chuck consistently provide compassionate care to his patients. Chuck works on the close observation area which is the high acuity hall (and is a locked area on the adult psych unit). He deals with extremely psychotic patients who are frequently threatening and dangerous. Chuck has been able to provide extremely competent and safe care. Chuck is very calm and patient while communicating with his patients.

He was taking care of an extremely psychotic patient who had a history of violence, was loud and threatening, and also an extremely large individual, security was called to help manage this patient. Chuck was able to calm this patient down by talking to him in a calm manner. The patient accepted medications, as well as followed directions. Security did not have to be involved. Chuck cared for the patient for a week until he was transferred.

Chuck communicates well with the patient's families and is well liked by all staff.
