Ciara is not only a great charge nurse on 2W night shift, but she is also one of our primary clinical scholars here at Platte. Ciara has instructed and overseen over 50+ nursing students from numerous nursing programs including, UNC, DCN, and CCU over this past school year. Ciara is not only the instructor to these students, but she is also a mentor and a leader. Ciara is their cheer leader, a constant source of encouragement and puts their fears at ease.

Ciara fosters a sense of belonging in the students and treats each and every student with the utmost respect. Ciara welcomes and embraces students from all different kinds of backgrounds and ensures each student has whatever accommodations or support they need to feel comfortable in this learning environment. Ciara continues to push herself to grow professionally as well.

Ciara has attend the Discover Leadership course offered through Intermountain, and is currently enrolled in a Masters program for Nursing Education. Ciara strives to be the best version of herself she can be and encourages and inspires other caregivers around her, as well as the students she instructs. Ciara not only has outstanding relationships with the students, but she fosters a sense of teamwork throughout various units and departments in the hospital to provide great learning opportunities for the students. Ciara has a great report with the OR, cath lab, wound care, case management, and infusion clinic in addition to the ED and inpatient units. She encourages and promotes collaboration between departments and units to ensure good learning opportunities for the students, and provide professional growth and development via precepting for our caregivers.
