She has invested selflessly above and beyond to help develop the team and strengthen teamwork to become self-sufficient, empowered, reliable, and a resource across acute care units.
Ciara has been one of the extraordinary bedside nurse leaders in our unit. She fosters and leads compassionately. She listens actively and empathetically and speaks with kindness to staff, nurses, and patients. One thing that stands out about her is her grit in finding answers and solutions that will make patients safe, and nurses practice safely and efficiently.
As one of the most active Safety Coaches, the extent of her passion to ensure that nurses and PCA are providing safe patient care is not limited by the department or unit that she works with. She is known to share her expertise as Central line/PICC/ porta cath deaccess certified Cortrak insertion certified, even to hospitalists, other units such as 12T, 21T. Nurses and nurse managers know her, as she is always bubbly and enthusiastic to help.
Further, she has been one of the key drivers pushing the unit's boundaries to become highly reliable, dependable, and performing. She has invested selflessly above and beyond to help develop the team and strengthen teamwork to become self-sufficient, empowered, reliable, and a resource across acute care units. She ensures that everyone is supported, help is available during the shift, and she always gets out of her way to help.
Finally, she has been very proactive in committees, and her great ideas have helped shape the unit's performance improvement strategies that address nurse-sensitive quality metrics such as CLABSI, CAUTI, Fall, HAPI, and Readmissions. Her contributions are not confined to our unit but have transcended to other acute care units, positively impacting quality of care, patient experience, and staff satisfaction.
