Ciby from Day Unit in Ward 50 has literally saved my life today! She is an exceptional nurse who goes above and beyond! I was admitted to a day unit for an angioplasty and expected to go home the same day. Due to increasing pain and discomfort I was admitted to stay the night. Ciby was always there to support me mentally as well as make sure I was comfortable and had everything that I needed. I had a chat with other patients, and we all agreed that Ciby is one of the very special nurses who everyone loves and we are all happy when it’s her shift.

When I woke up the next morning, I carefully stood up and quickly realised something was wrong, so called for help. I had internal bleeding from my artery and my groin, leg and belly quadrupled in size in a split second.

Ciby was next to me immediately and she very quickly recognised the situation and started pressing hard on the swollen area. She really kept calm and gave a few orders for people to call doctors, pull emergency buttons, etc. while pressing very hard on my groin. I’m scared to imagine what could have happened without Ciby's quick reaction.

Massive thanks from the bottom of my heart. She definitely deserves recognition for everything she does for her patients while being kind and always having a smile on her face. Thank you.
