She worked the night before my C-section, and the morning of my C-section, when her shift ended, she came into my room in scrubs, stayed for my C-section, and stayed by my side while my babies were born, staying hours past the end of her shift.
I was admitted as an antepartum patient at 29 weeks pregnant with twins. I lived over two hours away, and my husband was at home taking care of our other child, so I was stuck in the hospital alone. It had been a long and stressful pregnancy with complications, and the hospital stay was lonely and hard. I had a month-long hospital stay, and I counted on my nurses to take care of me and monitor my babies in the hospital. Cierra worked the night shift, and I always looked forward to her nights. She was kind, thorough, and caring. Having someone who I felt like was really paying attention and looking out for me was really reassuring and made a big difference in my stay.

She worked the night before my C-section, and the morning of my C-section, when her shift ended, she came into my room in scrubs, stayed for my C-section, and stayed by my side while my babies were born, staying hours past the end of her shift. She was a calming presence, and having someone specifically there for me was a great help during a vulnerable and scary time. She was back that night, and after a rough day coming out of surgery, I was so glad to have her looking after me! She stayed with me for surgery, not because it was her job, but because she cared about me as her patient. She went above and beyond to support me during my entire stay, and I will be forever grateful.
