My boyfriend had been in the Pavilion for over a week from bacteria in his blood due to a lifestyle choice. Since he and I both had been living the same lifestyle, I went to the Emergency Room to have myself checked and talk to someone about trying to better my situation. I couldn't continue to "use" and cause the love of my life to relapse and end up back in the hospital, or worse, end up dead. I had the emergency room doctor write me a prescription for medicine for withdrawal, so I could get through this difficult time and start a life of sobriety. My only issue was having absolutely no cash, and no one to help me. A nurse, out of the kindness of her heart, paid for my medicine to be filled. Thanks to her, the medicine helped make the next few days easier and allowed me to help my boyfriend. We both will be able to go home to our children and start our new year with a fresh start. I hate that my boyfriend was in the hospital and very sick, but some things are a blessing in disguise, even if they do not seem like it at the time. This nurse not only helped me with medicine and antibiotics, but she saved me and made me a better person for my life partner, our 3 little girls, and helped me find the way to get my family back together. This nurse will never know how much she means to me. She not only saved my life but also my family. This nurse gave our 3 little girls their mother and father back, and I will forever be grateful to her.
Thank you, Cindy Knight, for saving our lives.
