When the daughter showed up at the nurses' station, I walked her to the room, opened the door, and there was Cindy, holding our patient's hand, the patient was at peace.
I wanted to share how proud I am to work with our house supervisor Cindy Lane. Recently we had a patient in our unit RRT x2. After the second RRT, the physician called the patient's family and discussed with the daughter code status. The patient's daughter decided that she was just going to keep her mother comfortable until God would call her home. Cindy Lane was at the bedside; she showed her compassion and how she lives our mission. As she sat down at the edge of the bed with the patient, she held her hand and offered to pray with her, she comforted her by not letting go of her hand. Everyone had left and we were waiting for the family to come and say their goodbyes to their loved one. When the daughter showed up at the nurses' station, I walked her to the room, opened the door, and there was Cindy, holding our patient's hand, the patient was at peace. I was surprised to find her in the room, I thank her, Cindy's reply, "I couldn't leave her alone, had to wait with her until family got here. "
Thank you for all you do for us, Cindy.
