Cindy provides excellent care to her patients on the ICU/telemetry floor. One example is when Cindy had a patient in the telemetry area that was anxious regarding her illness but also about her home situation. She had a family member that she normally took care of each day. This particular family member was uneasy about not having her caregiver at home with her and continued to call the unit requesting to speak to Cindy's patient. The patient expressed to Cindy that she was unable to handle her home situation and her current illness. The family member continued to call the hospital multiple times and Cindy handled each and every call with her calm, sweet, and reassuring yet firm voice. She did not mention the amount of calls she received to her patient, not wanting to increase her anxiety. Cindy worked to get the name of a neighbor that agreed to check on the patient's family member. She did all this while handling her other heavy assignment. Cindy exemplifies the definition of a DAISY Honoree!
