Cindy was my dad's nurse when he was in the ICU with pancreatitis. Even though he was only in there for one day before being transferred to Mayo, Cindy treated him and our family with such great care. She was very comforting and made sure we knew everything that was going on. She made sure that my dad knew exactly what the doctors were talking about and why they were recommending that he be transferred. When the flight crew arrived to prepare my dad for transport, she assured us that he was still her patient and wouldn't leave the ICU until she was completely comfortable with his care. She double checked that all the wires, tubes, and machines were hooked up and operating correctly. Before leaving she gave each of us a hug and wished us luck as we were preparing to make the long drive from Rapid City to Rochester.
