We recently had a very critical patient take a turn for the worse. The parents only spoke Spanish and Cindy speaks Spanish fluently. Cindy helped us interpret to the family how grave their baby's condition was. Cindy found coverage for her patient assignment, spoke with the family, helped with his baptism, made herself available when he died to comfort the parents and helped the staff make this devastating day so personal and heartfelt.

Not just compassionate care- exemplary- defined "serving as a desirable model; representing the best of its kind" that was Cindy. For only being a nurse here for 1 year, I can't come up with the right words to describe how valued she is. Swansons caring model: Maintaining belief, knowing, being with, doing for, facilitating care. She absolutely deserves this award.
