Cindy's compassion and passion for her patients knows no bounds. As a patient, I experienced first-hand the wealth of knowledge Cindy possesses and her willingness to help guide patients through the continuum of care. No question is ever met with anything but thought and honesty and a feeling that you are Cindy's only patient.
One recent example of Cindy's selflessness is her interaction with a patient known to the cancer center for several years. This particular patient had no family, friends or resources to help her in her struggle with cancer. After suffering a debilitating health event, it became apparent to all, including the patient, that she could no longer live alone and Cindy worked tirelessly along with the patient's social worker to get the patient situated in assisted living. Cindy visited the patient after work hours and on weekends, taking her the personal items she needed. Cindy rallied co-workers to help provide the patient with personal items needed for her room, as well as clothing she needed. She did so all while caring for her other patients, providing each one her undivided attention. She continues today to visit the patient after hours and provide her with personal items she needs.
Cindy is the consummate nurse who, on an everyday-basis, willingly puts our patients' needs above her own.
