I would like to start out by saying the entire staff we encountered was exceptional. But once my mother was moved to ICU we were greeted by my mother's soon to be night nurse, Claire. What an amazing young lady. Claire was incredibly comforting from the second we walked in, not only to my mother but to me as well.
My mother was very anxious and scared having never had a medical emergency in her entire life. Claire instantly picked up on my mother's fear and as Claire was talking to my mother about what was going to take place and what to expect, I could see my mother's face begin to relax, not realizing the entire time she was talking to my mother she had been rubbing her feet gently. I would also like to point out that at one particular time my mother was really upset, Claire looked my mother directly into her eyes and said just as sweetly as could be "...the reason I got up today was to take care of you."
Claire was by far the best nurse I have ever encountered in my entire life. My experience with Claire left me feeling like I left my mother with a family member. Claire is without a doubt in the right profession. May she continue to touch people's lives with her care and compassion.
