I wholeheartedly nominate Claire for this award in recognition of the exceptional care, compassion, and kindness she showed my husband, our baby boy, and me during the most heartbreaking time of our lives.

Following a diagnosis of Patau syndrome, my husband and I found ourselves in the bereavement suite preparing to give birth to our son. As you can imagine, this was an incredibly traumatic and frightening experience for us both. We were completely overwhelmed with grief and fear.

Claire took over our care shortly after the birth of our little boy, and from that moment onwards, she was nothing short of extraordinary. What touched us most was the way she treated our son with such tenderness, dignity, and love - exactly as she would any other baby. Her kindness felt so genuine and natural, and it was clear that caring for others is simply who she is, not just part of her profession.

The compassion and gentleness she showed towards us during those precious moments are something we will carry with us forever. She made an unbearable situation feel just a little less lonely and frightening, and I truly do not believe we could have navigated that experience without her support.

Claire will forever hold a special place in both mine and my husband’s hearts, and I will always be deeply grateful that she became such an important part of our little boy’s story. She is, without question, one of the most incredible midwives I have ever met, and a truly beautiful human being.

Thank you, Claire, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
