My mom was a patient on 7 south for four days when she had Covid pneumonia. I was told that my mom was a handful at times, yet when Claire worked her overnight shifts, she sat with my mom, held her hand, gave her blankets and food, and talked to her about her kids and life. Claire comforted her and went the extra mile to make sure she was not in pain. On a number of occasions, Claire helped me find calm when I called to check on her status. She held the phone to my mom’s ear when I needed to tell her I was on my way to the hospital and to please hold on. Claire really helped my mom not give up. She even mentioned Claire’s name to me as she was dying saying that she really liked her. I will be forever grateful to Claire as she has been a huge blessing to me and my mom. I call her my mom’s guardian angel.
