She guided me with patience, encouraged my growth, and met me where I was without judgment.
Claire has been an outstanding preceptor during my Integrated Practicum experience. Her mentorship has had a profound influence on both my professional development and personal growth as a future nurse. From the very beginning, Claire created a supportive environment where I felt safe to learn, ask questions, and make mistakes without fear of judgment.
What stood out most was her ability to model the very best of nursing practice—clinical excellence, compassionate communication, and unwavering professionalism. I watched her navigate complex patient situations with confidence and empathy, especially during difficult conversations with patients and families. These moments were powerful learning opportunities that deepened my understanding of what it truly means to advocate for and support patients.
Claire consistently challenged me to think critically, reflect deeply, and uphold the standards of nursing care. She helped me see the real-world relevance of what we learn in school—especially around patient safety and evidence-based practice. She showed me that it’s possible to manage your time efficiently without compromising the quality of care or cutting corners.
What makes this experience even more meaningful is that I came into this rotation with a unique perspective. After repeating my second year of RN school due to earlier challenges rooted in overconfidence and previous experience in healthcare, I knew I needed to rebuild my foundation. I shared that with Claire on day one—and she embraced it with kindness and purpose. She guided me with patience, encouraged my growth, and met me where I was without judgment.
Claire is the kind of nurse who not only delivers exceptional patient care but also lifts others up along the way. Her mentorship has left a lasting impact on me—one that will shape the nurse I become. I am incredibly grateful for her role in my journey, and I will carry the lessons she taught me throughout my career.
