I was immediately post-partum tight-rope walking mortality with my second leukemia diagnosis in 9 years, crying every day because I couldn't see my other 3 children (due to cold and flu season visiting restrictions) and Claire comforted me. She dried my tears and even made me laugh. She wasn't just a nurse, she became my friend. A spot of light and hope in a dark time. In my month-long hospital stay, she took care of me many times. Each time she treated me like family. It wasn't one thing she did that makes her stand out. It was a million little things. She made me feel human, she made me feel safe, she made me feel loved and did so seemingly effortlessly. She exudes goodness and kindness and helped me make peace during one of the scariest times of my life.
