February 2026 Honoree
Claire F Rozewicz, BSN, RN
Claire had a hand in saving my life. She was the night nurse for me after I had gotten out of recovery from a cesarean/hysterectomy because I had placenta Accreta. During the surgery, my femoral artery developed a blood clot, and there really weren’t many signs. I started to get feeling back in my left leg, but barely any in my right. Nurses would come in to check my pulses on my feet and would say, “It’s light, but I feel it”. My coloring was good too.
Claire continued to check on my pulse constantly, no matter that most of my symptoms were very normal. She ended up having radiology come in for imaging, which is when they found the blood clot. Many told me how lucky I was to have her as my nurse, as many would’ve overlooked my symptoms. I ended up going in for emergency surgery late that evening. Besides doing her due diligence, she was incredibly kind and sweet. A comfort after a very scary and traumatic day of multiple surgeries. I’m so grateful to her! God knew I needed her as my nurse.
