Clara Keeley, BSN, RN

Patient has been hospitalized in CTICU for months now and due to multiple post-op complications, has become very withdrawn and depressed. Clara has done an amazing job of trying to bring joy back into the patient's life. The patient enjoys fishing. Clara decorated his room with blue streamers and cut out fish that she then positioned to look like they were swimming in between the streamers. Next, Clara created an OT exercise for the patient where she bought a toy fishing rod that has a magnet on the end and small fish with magnets at the mouth. The patient is able to work on his fine motor skills by "fishing" while in his bed/chair.

Overall, Clara is a fantastic nurse. She gives such unique, creative, and patient-specific care to every patient that she takes care of. I have seen her brush out and braid the most matted of hair. I have seen her decorate countless rooms with pictures of the patients' animals or family. She is always happy to be at work, and if I were a patient, I would be blessed to have her as my nurse
