Clara was assigned a very confused patient who required constant attention for multiple days. The patient was quite delirious and would have violent outbursts with hallucinations. Clara knew that this patient needed special attention and she provided it. She adjusted her approach to this patient by playing music that he/she liked and sat with the patient to talk about things that would interest him/her. She continued to deliver this care throughout the course of the shift. She also worked with the parent of the family member to fully customize the care for this patient. She had three other patients this evening. Her performance exemplifies the Lutheran Way and shows that she is a true DAISY Nurse.
