As grateful as I am always for the nurses and doctors that have treated me in the past, I have never been more grateful in my entire life for Clare Lucey and her help as my Labor & Delivery nurse. Long story short, my husband and I were supposed to deliver at another hospital but were unable to do so, due to road closures from the Mexican Independence parade. We had never been to Rush prior to delivering and despite initially feeling stressed and a bit scared, during the labor I felt so reassured knowing I was in great care -- and I truly owe this all to Clare.

This was my first time giving birth and I now realize that besides my husband, the L&D nurse on shift is truly the only constant while you deliver. Clare was so incredibly encouraging, gave me constant reassurance and support, and acted as a source of strength for me when I felt like giving up (after nearly 4 hours of pushing!). Clare even opted to stay past her shift to see my labor and delivery through, despite most likely being so incredibly exhausted herself, having worked through the night as my labor dragged on, with my daughter being born at 6:48 am.

Clare truly went above and beyond for my husband and me to ensure that I received the absolute best care. Words cannot express how truly grateful my husband and I are for her care during my labor and delivery.
