A few weeks ago, we had a patient on 1 East who was waiting for placement. He was not well enough to take care of himself and family was unable to assist him at home. As he was waiting for placement, his health continued to decline. 
 
One night, it was becoming more apparent that this patient wasn’t going to be well enough to be accepted into a nursing facility. 
 
In the coming days, they had discussions with his family regarding his care and ultimately, he was made comfort.​

Clarissa was pulled to Tele to take an assignment as the unit was filling with admissions. As Clarissa waited for her new patient to arrive, she sat with the gentleman who was comfort when they realized he didn’t have much time left. He wasn’t her patient, but she sat with him and played gospel music in his final moments, hoping to give him peace and comfort.​

Clarissa shows true care and compassion to her patients, and other patients. It takes a strong heart and beautiful soul to show up in those vulnerable moments when a patient needs it the most.
