My mother was determined she was not going to get an IV because it never fails that they have to stick her multiple times and dig around while they are in there. She was refusing and Clark made a deal with her that if he got it on the first stic,k she would get it if not then that was it. She said ok because NO ONE ever gets it on the first try. Clark found the right place and went right in with no problem. He got the blood needed. She (and I as well) fought him each step of the way about what they wanted to do. He never was overbearing, he answered our questions honestly and openly as he could.

No matter what refusal was thrown at him he smiled and talked her into doing what was necessary. He is a true asset to the Cone Family and to Nurses everywhere. He was a true blessing to us making sure she had what she needed. He took the time to answer any questions. We would have left at 3:30 if it had not been for Clark. His shift ended at 7 and he was gone before we got to say thank you.
