Claudia Mena, BSN, RN

I came in in shackles and chains, pretty scared and alone. Ms. Claudia never once looked at me with contempt and disdain. It was like my handcuffs didn't exist. She was very patient with my inability to do much because of both my recent surgery and lockdown status. To me, she was the picture of care, empathy, and compassion.

She showed great problem-solving skills working around my shackles and demonstrated innovation in the way she cared for me. Her patience was exemplary. My medical emergency button was broken and must have gone off thirty times over her shift. Knowing this, she showed up in a timely manner each time, making certain I, her patient, was okay.

She even gave me some stern advice concerning instructions I should have been following that I wasn't taking seriously. I believe Claudia should be recognized for her ability to go above and beyond with a true spirit of compassion, all while remaining professional and very genuine.
