We have had a patient in our unit for over two months. She has a condition that is very painful and she became addicted to pain medication. The physician has been weening her off pain meds and the patient is very difficult on a daily basis as she struggles with this.
Claudia was wonderful at helping to distract the patient by talking to her and keeping her mind off the pain medication she wanted. Today I noticed the patient actually smiling and sitting in a chair! Later, I walked by and Claudia had all the isolation gear on, sitting across from the patient, playing salsa music and putting makeup on the patient!
Claudia has gone above and beyond to help this girl feel good and begin the long journey of healing!
