March 2026 Honoree
Claudia Stedman, Nurse
I would like to nominate my coworker, Claudia Stedman, an LPN, for the DAISY Award for her exceptional attentiveness and commitment to patient safety.
While assigned as a 1:1 sitter for a device, she demonstrated outstanding clinical awareness. Although the patient was sleeping, she noticed subtle but concerning changes—profuse sweating and moaning—that could have easily been overlooked. Trusting her clinical judgment, she immediately notified the charge nurse.
Upon assessment, the patient was found to be hypoglycemic. Because of her prompt observation and quick action, the patient received timely intervention, preventing further deterioration and potential harm.
Her vigilance, advocacy, and dedication exemplify the true spirit of nursing. Even in a sitter role, she remained fully engaged in the patient’s condition and prioritized safety above all else.
She is a true asset to our team and deeply deserving of recognition through the DAISY Award.
