Clay Miles, RN

I am writing this as a patient, as I recently had surgery at West with Clay as my nurse. I have known Clay for years, as I have seen him with ortho patients post-op. I already knew he was a gem as a colleague. When he was assigned to me as my nurse, I was elated. I knew I was in great hands and all anxiety left.

From the minute my husband and I walked into my room, Clay was professional as well as caring and compassionate. He asked if he could pray with my husband and me, and of course, we said yes. I truly felt his love and compassion. As he prepared me for surgery, he made sure everything was taken care of.

Once I returned to PACU, Clay was the first person I woke up to. My heart was warm knowing I was again in great hands. My husband commented numerous times how blessed we were to have Clay. He knew how anxious and scared I was to have surgery, but after interacting with Clay, he was immediately comforted. Clay is the true definition of what a DAISY Award recipient exhibits. He is my guardian angel. He is a blessing to me and our patients at West. I will never be able to thank him enough for how special he was to me. Thanks Clay! My husband and I appreciate you so much!
