Clay went above and beyond and explained things. He made me feel better when I had to leave my husband.
Clay will never know how much they did for us. I had been asking for a heart cath for my husband for over a year because he got so short of breath when he did anything. Then he walked for a short way, started having midline chest pain, had to take nitroglycerin, and then they did a heart cath. He had 8 blockages which really scared me.
But when we got to SICU Clay was there the first day. I couldn’t have my family here because of Covid and I was scared. But Clay went above and beyond and explained things. He made me feel better when I had to leave my husband. I knew he was in very capable hands. I also heard Clay explaining to a student what the machines were for and what to watch for. They couldn’t get my husband off the vent the first day after surgery but Clay went out of his way to explain things and try to make me understand it all.
Clay put the patient first, he really cared about what was best for them. Another thing I really admired about him was he had a student and explained everything so she could understand what was happening and he did it with kindness. I think he showed that student how to take care of a patient and also the family cause sometimes they have to be treated too. Clay is a kind person. I never asked Clay a question he couldn’t answer and explain why. Sometimes when you are scared you need answers more especially when you don’t know what is going on.
