From the onset, my wife and I were extremely impressed and grateful for the high level of care I received. Not knowing what to expect, we were, of course, nervous and apprehensive having just gone through the frightening experience of my stroke. First and foremost, your unit is like a family, which is perhaps the highest compliment I can give the staff. Each employee, regardless of title/position, was always ready to help! There is no hierarchy on this unit. During my stay, I witnessed RN's carrying trash and taking away food trays. Nurse Assistants were happy to do "whatever' to ensure that I had a positive stay. Each member of your staff assigned to my care was the consummate professional, but each became more like my family during my stay. In closing, my experience on the 7 South Neurosurgery Unit could not have been more positive. The family values and love your staff instills in their work and in the patient’s care is second to none. As the old saying goes "You're only as good as those you're surrounded by." Each person who cared for me deserves to be recognized. Congratulations to such a wonderful environment of caring, kind, intelligent, compassionate medical professionals.
