Clinton was nominated for the DAISY Award by the daughter-in-law of a former open heart surgery patient. In the nomination she wrote, "Clinton was able to explain everything about her surgery. He made us feel like we knew what to expect in the healing process. He spent nearly an hour every time he worked explaining progress and setbacks. Clinton takes care of not only the patient but the patient's loved ones in the same loving manner."
