Clint is my clinical nurse for GI patients, handling all My Chart messages and phone calls. Every clinic day there is at least one patient's family who tells me how wonderful he is, unsolicited. They tell me he is responsive to their questions, is caring and concerned and that they appreciate his help. A lot of my patients never meet him in person, because he does care management for the patients I see at the South Campus clinic, and he never attends that clinic. Without having met him, they know who he is, and when they leave a message, they know he will contact them shortly. They trust his judgment and know that he will discuss with me and either send them a message or call them.
Clint is hard-working and very conscientious. He does not leave calls or messages unanswered, and prior to leaving town, he always has all loose ends tied up, not leaving work for the covering nurse. He is efficient and concise in his communication. He is a pleasure to work with and is collegial with every person with whom he interacts. I have never seen or heard him be unprofessional in any interactions.
I have been told by families that they have never received medical care the way we deliver it here at CHCO DHI. They appreciate the length of their clinic visits and the attention they receive. They do not have the immediate response to their calls from other medical offices that they receive from us. None of this would be possible without caring people like Clint.
One patient's father told me "You better hang on to him"!
Clinton is a DAISY Nurse because of the impact he has on my patients and their care and for the image he creates in the community for our institution.
