I am honored to nominate nurse Cody from the Emergency Department for a DAISY Award because the care he provided to me in the ER was extraordinary in ways that go far beyond medical skill.
Cody was calm without being detached. Confident without being dismissive. He spoke to me, not over me. He explained what was happening and why, walked me through each step, and checked in constantly to make sure I felt informed and safe. He didn’t rush. He didn’t minimize. And most importantly, he never once made me feel judged.
Cody met me with compassion and respect. He took my situation seriously, treated my discomfort with urgency, and carried himself with a steady reassurance that made an overwhelming experience feel safe. marked by dignity and kindness. am deeply thankful for him.
