May 2025 Honoree
Coleen Deibert, BSN, RN
I had a Watchman implanted into my heart. During the later stage of recovery, as I was eating, I had to cough, but was not quick enough at placing pressure on the catheter insertion point. As a result, Coleen put pressure on the site and maintained it during transport to get a CT scan, through the CT scan (with a protective apron on her), and through transport back to recovery until the bleed stopped and a new wound dressing was applied. It turned out that I was admitted to the hospital. She felt that the area of the hospital they planned for me did not have adequate monitoring and insisted that I be admitted to a more comprehensive monitoring area of the hospital. I really felt she went far beyond in her service. My wife, who is a retired OR RN (26+ years), fully agrees that Coleen really went above and beyond in her excellent service.
Thank you, Coleen, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
