Coleen sets forth the belief that to seek achievement and to risk failure is far more beneficial than to remain in the educator comfort zone.
Coleen joined Curry College in 2009 and has taught across the curriculum and programs. She was instrumental in the RN to BS online program initiative and has mentored countless faculty to embrace online teaching and become hybrid certified. She is a shining example of collegiality – always at the ready to support and mentor faculty - whether it be to review a colleague’s manuscript or to serve on a colleague’s dissertation committee, or even as simple as encouraging novice and experienced faculty members to attend nursing education conferences. One colleague perfectly summarizes Coleen by stating, “She sets forth the belief that to seek achievement and to risk failure is far more beneficial than to remain in the educator comfort zone.” Coleen is a Certified Nurse Educator and is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International, the Eastern Nursing Research Society, the National League for Nursing, and the Massachusetts Rhode Island League for Nursing. She is kind, caring, and passionate about nursing education and it shows in her interactions with her advisees, her students, and her colleagues (both in nursing and college-wide).
