Colette Knipe, RN

I was lucky enough to provide care to a very critically-ill patient alongside Colette. The patient was intubated on vasopressor medications and sedation with a poor prognosis. Colette collaborated with the critical care team and palliative care team members to fulfill the wishes of the patient and his significant other of 30+ years to be wed while in the ICU. Colette is a DAISY Nurse for her commitment to extraordinary service to her patient and his family (now wife). She advocated for the wishes of the patient through compassion and clear communication. As a new member of the St. Luke’s Hospital Network, I was extremely moved by the exceptional nursing care I witnessed, and hope Colette is recognized for her actions.
