Colette Mills, BSN, RN, CHPN

I began receiving Schneck Hospice Services about two months ago, and it has been a godsend, primarily due to the exemplary care provided by my nurse, Colette Mills. She has mastered the art of nursing care. Not only is she competent, but she is genuinely compassionate as well. Colette has amazing communication skills. We’ve only known each other a little over two months, and I feel like we’ve known each other for years! It is not uncommon to find us laughing and crying together. Recently, while Colette was here for a visit, my husband had to be taken to the ER, and she stayed with me until my son was able to arrive. Her flexibility and kindheartedness spoke volumes. Colette has shown a keen interest in learning more about my specific health issues, which is consoling to me. She is excellent at problem-solving skills, and if she doesn’t know the answer, she knows who to contact. By the time she leaves me, we have come up with a workable plan. For all these reasons and more, I would like to nominate Colette Mills for the DAISY Award.
