Colin McVittie, BScN, RN

As a fellow nurse at Corewell Health, I understand the demands and pace of our profession. That is why I felt compelled to reach out and recognize Colin for the exceptional care he provided to my mother. She was experiencing a very difficult clinical situation in significant pain, exhausted, and extremely vulnerable. Colin approached her with compassion, professionalism, and genuine presence. He took the time to lower himself to her level, speak to her with respect, and ensure she felt seen and heard.

He maintained her dignity during some very challenging moments, including episodes of vomiting, never once making her feel embarrassed or uncomfortable. He consistently checked on her and provided comfort in a way that truly reflected patient-centered care. Colin represents the kind of nurse we all strive to be. As both a nurse and a daughter, I am deeply grateful for the care he provided.
