The wonderful Colin her palliative care nurse ensured not only she was comfortable but we were too
  • My 65-year-old aunt had MS and sadly got sepsis. Due to her ill health, she was not strong enough for the surgery that would save her. She was respectfully given a side room where we could visit and a few family members stayed with her around the clock for 5 days waiting for her inevitable passing. The wonderful Colin her palliative care nurse ensured not only she was comfortable but we were too. He gave her the dignity she deserved and made decisions collaboratively with us as family informed at every step. It was the worst of times for us as she got weaker and her pain intensified however we were guided by Colin through her last days. His care and compassion knew no bounds, and his experience gave us the peace of mind we needed to make the most of the time we had left.
  • I wish to raise awareness to the respective department regarding one particular team member in Dunlop Ward. I only know his name as Colin, who I believe was a staff nurse responsible for palliative care. My sister passed away in Dunlop Ward in May this year. Colin, throughout administering her treatment, did so with care compassion, and showed the utmost dignity. Colin has a rare skill and was extremely thoughtful and considerate during what was for us a tragic and stressful time. Colin should be commended at the highest level for the way he dealt with my sister as his patient.
