Colleen Bergstrom, BSN, RN

I want to take a moment to recognize an extraordinary nurse, Colleen, who cared for my mom during an incredibly difficult and traumatic time for our family. Although my mom was placed on a unit that wasn’t even the one she was supposed to be on, Colleen never let that affect the level of care she provided. From the moment we arrived, Colleen went above and beyond not just for my mom, but for all of us. She made sure my mom was comfortable in every way possible, even in a setting that wasn’t designed for her specific needs. More than that, she cared for us—her family. She made sure we had what we needed, answered our questions patiently, and offered a calm, reassuring presence that helped to ground us during a time of uncertainty and fear. Colleen’s compassion, professionalism, and warmth made a world of difference. She treated us like people, not just patients and visitors, and for that, we are tremendously grateful. It’s comforting to know that nurses like Colleen exist—people who are not only skilled at what they do but who lead with heart and humanity. Thank you, Colleen. Your service won’t be forgotten.
