Nurse Colleen arranged to get the doctor's orders to transport me to the NICU to hold my twins for the first time once I was well enough to do so.
Nurse Colleen is an extraordinary human being. After delivering my twins I had some serious complications that led me to stay in the ICU. I was not able to hold my twins after delivering them. The twins were not allowed to come to the ICU to visit me because it wasn’t safe for them. Nurse Colleen arranged to get the doctor's orders to transport me to the NICU to hold my twins for the first time once I was well enough to do so. She went above and beyond in her coordination with the medical team units in order to ensure safety precautions and she coordinated the visit with her other responsibilities.

Nurse Colleen took extremely good care of me during my stay. She was communicative and friendly and it was clear that she was invested in me and my care. Every shift she had a positive attitude and pushed me within my limits to make the next step in the recovery process. What is remarkable is that she knew that health care is more than just medications, research, and procedures…she recognized the emotional side. That visit would ultimately give me the strength to recover to the point of unifying with my twins and husband in the postpartum unit. I am forever indebted to Nurse Colleen and her exceptional care and heart.
