Literally, every time I take a patient to Colleen, she shows exemplary care and compassion, not only for the patients but also the families. We had two trauma alerts (M and P) who were husband and wife. The husband was extremely unstable and was taken to TICU. His wife's only injury was a broken arm. Colleen helped to facilitate me bringing M to the TICU to see P prior to him going to IR when we were unsure if he was going to make it through the procedure. Not only did she allow this, as charge nurse, but she also was in constant communication with us in the ED regarding P's condition. Colleen even brought the priest to pray with the couple. She assisted with prayers in IR and walked him to the ED as they both recited prayers with M. This is only one small example of how great Colleen is and it is not the first time she's done something like this. She is a pleasure to give report to and I am always so thankful when she is working and my patients to her unit.
